Nas has been in the public eye over the years from rap beef, divorce with Kelis, and now his daughter Destiny. Nas is a great lyricist to me and that makes a GREAT RAPPER. When listening to Nas, you will always receive some type of message from his music. Nas released his latest single “Daughters” after his daughter Twitpic a picture of a box of condoms. The song is awesome to me and I instantly fell in love. I fell in love with song because any parent can relate to the song whether it’s their son or daughter. When your child hits their teenage years, they begin to change and sometimes even act out.

Nas’ babymother Carmen Bryan was not too happy about the song and she tweeted:

I definitely understand Carmen’s concern from the song but I didn’t think it was negative. I feel that Nas is letting the world know his thoughts on raising a teenage daughter. Check out what Nas had to say about his latest single “Daughters” in his interview with Complex Magazine:

 ”Daughters” was an emotional record. What made you be so honest?

This is the first time I’m dealing with a teenage daughter, and it blows me away.I don’t know that you’re ever prepared to be a parent. Once you become one, that’s your responsibility. It’s more like me talking to myself, about how I could have been there a lot more. I beat myself up for not being the best I can be. I would ask her, “Am I cool dad?” or ”Am I a great dad? Did I f*ck up?” And she would say, “Nah, you’re good.” That’s important to me because I started out as a teen. I was around 19 when her mother was pregnant. My daughter means a lot to me. It’s just a record that came from the heart.
